Empowr Review – New Social Media Network Worth It?

Read on the Players Money blog at Empowr Review – New Social Media Network Worth It? or continue reading right here:

Empowr is a social network that is designed for the people by the people. The platform is designed in a way that keeps people in control of what they have to say.

Unlike other social media outlets that ban, delete or hide posts, Empowr lets the users post whatever they want within reason. It is a democracy in life, and that is what Empowr brings to social media.

Empowr

The Company

Empowr is created by Michael Pousti and Brandie Williams and has been around the internet for a while now. The company allows the members to post anything from tips and cooking recipes, to affiliate links.

When you first signup the process is easy. Once you confirm your email address you are able to log in and see what the community has to say. The first thing you may notice is the cash that has been deposited into your account.

This money isn’t really money, though, it works more like credits that you have in order to promote ads and other links on your account or use the funds to bid on items that others are selling.

The site allows you to post what you want without being banned. It has however changed over the course of many years. Once known as Fanbox and Project Uplift, it is now known as Empowr.

The Product

Empowr is a tool that can be used by marketers to promote their business, affiliate links or websites. The more you put into your profile, the more money you can make. With every link, you post and get other people to like, the higher the dollar amount you can make. You have to wait for 90 days before your funds mature to withdraw.

The Verdict

There are so many things wrong with this company it is difficult to start. First, let’s talk about pay. When you first signup you will notice money that is already in your account. You may wonder why you have this in the account since you first started, but it is a trick to get you excited about making money with them. You will also notice that the funds haven’t yet reached maturity.

As you conduct your business and begin promoting your stuff, you will start to see your funds increase. Many people won’t realize that this is just a ploy to keep your engaged on the platform. When you think that the funds are ready to mature, you will begin to notice that small amounts are being drained from the account. Or you may even see that the funds in the account will never roll over so you can get paid. If you are one of the lucky few who is able to claim funds, you will still be charged a fee to get the money out. The fee is nearly 90% of what is your account and you will walk away with a small amount.

The second thing that makes this website so deceiving is that it was created by the same guy who brought you Fanbox. According to the BBB (Better Business Bureau), there are complaints on top of complaints about Fanbox. From employees not being paid to customers who haven’t received their funds. With so many issues registered with the BBB, the BBB had no choice but to give the business a grade of “F”.

The third thing that you may not notice is the fine print in the terms and conditions portion of the website. Within this document, you will see that Empowr operates under the pretense of “IPL” which stands for “I’ll Pay Later”. Just how much later, well, for many that time will never come. The fine print explains what IPL is really about. The company uses clever wording to explain that you will never be paid. The wording is very clear and precise on all the different ways that they can keep your funds from you.

Empowr is designed to look like a great place for you to earn some cash. If you use the program for just social interaction, then great. Just don’t expect the funds to be paid out to you. Remember to always read the fine print and go over it with a comb before signing up.
