Marketing Quickies Show Review – Russell Brunson’s Podcast

Read on the Players Money blog at Marketing Quickies Show Review – Russell Brunson’s Podcast or continue reading right here:

Marketing Quickies Show is a regular stream of videos brought to you in quick sound-bitey podcasts delivered via an email subscription. The show offers great content  streams on the topic of digital marketing, especially sales funnels.

But who’s behind the Marketing Quickie Show, and why should you believe or trust what he’s saying?

Let’s take a look.

The Man Behind The Curtain: Russell Brunson

marketing_quickiesThe “company” is mainly Russell Brunson, and is officially called “Success Etc.”  Based in Meridian, Indiana, Success Etc LLC has ventured into a diverse range of product areas in the past few years…including a herpes zapper called the “Vygone Zapper”.

But now, Brunson is totally committed to offering marketing tips in the form of quick videos he shoots from home or hotel rooms as he travels the country (hence the name “Marketing Quickies Show”).

It’s all tied into Brunson’s main website, Dot Com Secrets.  There, he offers actual printed books (“108 Split Test Winners”), training, webinars, and other forms of coaching.  His software, ClickFunnels, is an integral part of everything.  Brunson also markets supplements.

Notably, on his website there is a testimonial from none other than mega guru Tony Robbins.  Mr. Robbins states that Russell is very good at “helping people figure out new ways to make money in this new economy”.

Indeed he helped himself starting in college, after which he supposedly made millions selling products out of a basement.  Other tidbits from his bio: he’s been at this for 12 years and not only dabbles in supplements, he owns a supplement company.  The name of that company?  Apparently it’s a secret.

Marketing Quickies Streaming Marketing Newsletters

Marketing QuickiesMarketing Quickies Show is offered via email subscription, although there are dozens of youtube examples on the MQS website.

As far as I can tell, the subscription is free (but I’m sure Russell & co. have big plans for that email!).

They promise they won’t sell or rent your email address, but that doesn’t mean they won’t use it to market the heck out of things before they’re done with you.

Videos are shot in hand-held format from Russell’s phone.  It’s totally off-the-cuff, spontaneous and high-energy.  Sometimes it’s not even in focus!  But the casual style and quick pace is what draws many in and keeps them there.  Some of the videos even have kids fooling around behind him as he speaks.  A little privacy, guys, while Dad works?

Mr. Brunson loves the term “funnel hacking” and covers it in many of his videos.  There is also a “Funnel Hack Web Class” but at the time of this post info on that was unobtainable (website down).  Did he coin the term?  His website boasts that even Marcus Lemonis is “funnel hacking” right now.

His main product is ClickFunnels, which sounds promising but at the time of this writing the website for it was down too.

His DotComSecrets Newsletter costs just under $50 per month.  Plus shipping!  He must be doing something right if he gets subscribers for that.  That probably costs more than even The Economist, probably the most respected, highest-quality magazine in the world.

With titles like these, it’s clear that some Quickies may be more useful than others:

  • Why I Hate Working on the Road
  • My #1 Rated Supplement For Entrepreneurs (Better Then Bulletproof Coffee…)
  • Time Management Secrets for World Domination
  • The Only 3 Must-Have Supplements I Take When I Travel
  • Avocado Bombs!! My Secret Breakfast Bio-Hack

At the same time is hard to deny the massive success Russel has had in the internet marketing and e-commerce industry, he is definitely the guy to learn from.

The quality of the content?  Considering it motivational support, it’s great.  Mr. Brunson delivers in a catchy, upbeat style that’s slightly addictive.  But as far as content- the usefulness of what he’s actually saying will depend where you are on the scale of experience in online marketing.  Newbies will find many actionable points to take home.

The rest of you, judge for yourself- it’s free!
