Blab.IM Review
Blab.IM is a live-streaming video platform that gives users a chance to take part in real-time conversations. You simply choose a topic of interest, or create one, and get the conversation started. There can only be 2-4 people live at once, but a side bar allows for live interactions through comments.
The Company
Blab is owned by Bebo, a social media platform that existed before the well known site Facebook. Shaan Puri is the current CEO of the company. The founder of Bebo Michael Birch initially sold the Bebo platform in 2008 for $850 million and decided to buy it back 5 years later for $1 billion reinventing the site now known as Blab.
In the summer of 2015 Blab was out and gaining headway becoming the new choice that replaced Google Hangouts. Many of the Hangout users discovered Blab and instantly fell in love with set up and the way the platform worked, allowing users to have more face-to-face interactions live as well as interactions through the sidebar. Users left Google hangouts hanging.
The Product
The platform itself is the product. There are no sign-up fees or costs of any kind for that matter. Blab has paved the way for businesses and social media marketers to be able to reach out and connect anywhere, anyplace at anytime.
You can literally have your own show. Even though you can only have 2-4 people on the interface at one time, the side bar allows live interaction and audience participation. You have the choice to record the whole thing or just sections of it. There is also the option to air live-stream or record it and set it to play at a later time or date.
When you start the live-stream, others with an interest may request to join in on the interface, you have the option to accept or decline who is involved. There is also an option to block people from being involved at all, although they can still watch the show. This platform allows you to get in touch with others, getting to know your audience and give and receive feedback.
