Jetbox Video Streaming Service – Can You Trust This Company?

Read on the Players Money blog at Jetbox Video Streaming Service – Can You Trust This Company? or continue reading right here:

Ready to cut the cord yet?  Or maybe you already have and you love talking about it and how much money you’re saving?  Jetbox is a box for streaming video to your television and it’s also an affiliate program.

Want to know more?  Read on. You’ll learn about the technicalities, the legalities, and the business opportunity as well, based on the future potential market for streaming TV box products.

JetBox: Video Streaming? Software? Courier? Which is it?

jetboxstreamingFirst off, Jetbox is a great name for this company but unfortunately a lot of other people think so too.  It’s also a courier service, a baseball club,  software package for corporate compliance managers, and a network of retail stores in San Diego Airport, and an online shopping portal for Spanish speakers.

That means a lot of confusion if you’re trying to look up anything about the company.  Not sure what that means about their marketing strategy but seems to me like the name has already been taken so the wise thing to do would be to come up with another one.

JetBox’s Facebook page says it’s been there since 2010 but the getjetbox.com website was created just this past March of 2015.  The DMCA.com certificate of verification in the footer of their website was last updated in 2012.  Hmmmm if the website wasn’t registered until 2015 then how’s that possible?

Usually when you look at an “About Us” page, you expect to see some company info.  Not with JetBox.  You simply get more verbiage on why you should cut the cord, cancel your cable subscription, and opt for streaming TV instead.

The company is listed with a California address.

JetBox: Like Cable Tv. Pay Less. Earn More

Without your cable TV, your television set becomes essentially useless, unless you live in a major urban area, TV channels in cities now distribute their content over the air, and it’s accessible via an digital antenna that costs about $20.  That’ll get you things like ABC, CBS, PBS…the basic channels.

For more variety, you’ll need streaming video, available over the internet.  So, as long as you have the following, you’re in business:

  1. a smart TV
  2. a streaming box
  3. an internet connection

JetBox sells the streaming boxes, called JetBox G3 and JetBox G5. They cost $299.99 and $399.99 respectively.  They also sell whoop-de-doo upgraded remotes to go with them, for $29.99 and $69.99.

They do offer a 30-day money-back guarantee but when you try and learn more about it, the link goes nowhere.  Products can be shipped anywhere in the world.

There’s a warning not to play with the settings on the box.  If it needs to be returned to the company for fixing after you monkey with the settings, they’ll charge you $50!

Join The Affiliate Program!

jetboxYes! JetBox has an affiliate program whereby affiliates may send customers to the JetBox website through their own website and receive up to 20% commission.  Build a team and get 5% off their sales.

JetBox provides visual marketing materials (banners) but that’s about it as far as training or other resources go.

Just to see how the products compared to what you could find elsewhere, I did a quick search and found that I can get virtually the same thing for just $51.99 on Amazon.  This product has 8G ROM, 1G RAM, and a Quad Core processor just like the JetBox G3.  The version of Android is even newer!  It also supports 1080p like the G3 (full HD).

So, what gives?  Cutting the cord isn’t a hard thing to sell, but getting customers to pay almost six times the price for your product is!

Then I thought back to how the “About Us” page is mysteriously uninformative and now I can’t see how this company, must less the business opportunity, is going to last very long.  Why would you invest all the time and effort into building a team when the whole thing is built on an over-priced product…not just overpriced but severely overpriced.

Something here is very fishy indeed and it’s not just all those episodes of Shark Tank you’ll be streaming with your new streaming box you got on Amazon for a fraction of the price of a JetBox product.
